The ending of a life.

When the heart stops beating and you draw your last breath.

Some people believe once you die you will be reincarnated into a different creature, others believe you will either enter the golden path of heaven or the fiery gates of hell, to some death is the end of your soul, it won’t go up into the sky for judgment and it will not transcend into the form of another object, your carcass will simply remain and that will soon end whether your buried in the ground and left for the worms to decompose or whether your body is cremated until nothing of you remains but some mere charcoaled ashes of what was once you.

People fear death. The fact that your life, that was once so valuable is abolished. So insignificant in the world compared to the number of deaths that occur daily. It is a rather daunting thought.

Then why don’t I fear it?

I am not afraid of death or dying young.

But I am more afraid of life. Illness. Pain. Despair.

People label death as a terrible thing but I view life as a harder obstacle. If you die, that is it. It is over. Yet if you live, you have to keep fighting on and on.

So many people want to live forever. Why? Life is hard enough if you lived 80 yrs why live to 200 yrs?

At times I think I should be worried. Why do I view death so differently than other? Am I missing something?

I am not afraid of death.

I am afraid of this life. The world that changes so frequently. Turbulent. Like a seesaw, one day up and another day down.

Where man is killing man. Where viruses and bacteria can destroy your life or your ability to live. Where one’s own mind can pollute life until it is impossible to enjoy..

I do not fear death. It is life that I am afraid of.
