I wanted to share with you a poem that I think every woman should know. It is written about the great Maya Angelou. This poem reminds me that there is more to being a woman than just looks. Often Media and Society push the value of looks that give us the impression from a very young age that if we do not fit this cookie cutter image of what is beautiful we are worthless but we all must remember that we are women. Phenomenally. Phenomenal Women. That is we. 🙂
Hope you enjoy this poem.
Pretty Women wonder where my secrets lie.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size.
But when I start to tell them
They think I’m telling lies
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I am a woman
